Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings! As we write, seasonally frigid weather has settled over Saskatoon. Last weekend the temperature dropped below -30C. When this happens the river exhales clouds of mist, covering the nearby trees with snow and ice.
Amidst the normal busyness of the home and the university, we are seeking out and developing our team of ministry partners. After several weeks of emails, phone calls, Zoom meetings–even a couple of rare in-person (& responsibly distant) meetings–our pledged support is around 13%. As we move into February we are setting our eyes on our goal and calling on each of you for your help.
What’s the goal? Building a team of ministry partners and reaching 100% support before orientation with TeachBeyond in June 2021.
What does this mean? We need people committed to support us on a monthly basis financially and in prayer. When we reach this goal we will, as a team, serve in Germany. Housing can be arranged at 50% pledged financial support. Flights are arranged at 90% and we leave at 100%.Â
How can you help? So glad you asked! Here is what YOU can do:
COMMIT to partnering with us on a monthly basis, both financially and in prayer. This is our greatest current need. If you have said yes already, but haven’t completed a commitment pledge, please send it in today! If you would prefer a printed pledge form, please let us know and we will post one to you.
PRAYÂ for others to join our team. We are confident that God has called people and churches to partner with us and that He will abundantly provide for every person on our team.
ASK others if they would be interested in joining in this ministry. As you pray, God may bring to mind people or churches you know with a heart for serving missionary kids and seeing the good news of God’s kingdom spread around the world. We would love to connect more people with the opportunity to be part of this exciting ministry!
Praise…
For those who have partnered with us already
That we are able to communicate with so many while unable to travel/visit
Prayer requests…
That we will reach our goal of 100% support
For our kids, who are adjusting to busier-than-normal parents
For Jon teaching at the university and Joy teaching at home
Thank you for your involvement in this ministry. The coming months will be busy and exciting as we balance the needs of family, homeschooling, university classes, and ministry partnership. Thank you, also, for remembering us in prayer.
Stay warm!
